Decorating Conical Hat (Nón Lá) Keychains

The story behind the Huế Conical Hat Keychain Decorating Workshop

The conical hat (nón lá) has long been a symbol closely tied to Huế. It is more than something to keep off the sun and rain. The hat appears alongside the purple áo dài, on bridges, on the Perfume River and at many traditional festivals, and it has become an essential part of the cultural beauty of the ancient capital.

Inspired by this image, HiPs created the mini conical hat keychain to preserve the beauty of the hat in a more personal, easy-to-carry way. A familiar everyday object has been shrunk into a souvenir, so everyone can carry "a piece of Huế" with them on their journey.

At the workshop, you will decorate your own keychain with motifs typical of Huế, such as lotus flowers, Trường Tiền Bridge and the Perfume River, or with drawings in your own style. Each finished keychain is one of a kind. It carries your personal touch and captures Huế in your own way.

This is more than a creative activity. It is also a chance to connect with local culture through a small product full of meaning. HiPs hopes each keychain becomes a keepsake that brings back beautiful experiences and lasting memories of Huế. 🤎
