Làng Sình Painted Fans – When the Spirit of Folk Art Comes Close to Everyday Life
16/05/2025
Traditional materials – Natural beauty shaped by artisans' hands Each fan is made from giấy dó vô điệp, a traditional handmade paper used specifically for Sình Village paintings. This material makes the fans durable and keeps the rustic, simple look true to the spirit of this folk painting tradition from Huế. The bamboo ribs are hand-smoothed, and the bamboo used is natural bamboo, thinly whittled and polished, giving the fan a sturdy frame that feels soft in the hand.
Craftsmanship in every step Every step is done carefully by hand, from printing and colouring the painting to finishing the fan frame. Each fan is a unique piece that carries the mark of the artisan's hand. It combines old cultural heritage with a contemporary touch, feeling both nostalgic and close to everyday life today.
One fan – One artistic story
